A 5,200 sqft coastal vacation home in Mahabalipuram with cantilevered terraces, an infinity pool and salt-tolerant material engineering.
About the project
Monsoon House — the story.
Designed as a long-weekend retreat 60 km from Chennai, Monsoon House had to survive sea-salt corrosion without looking like a fortress. We used marine-grade stainless steel, fibre-cement cladding and an epoxy-coated rebar mix — then dressed it in warm teak and lime plaster so it still feels like a holiday.
